The Westlake Girls Junior A Basketball team won the north Harbour A Grade Basketball title in mid-August. The KBB Band and Orchestra Festival was held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in mid-August and Westlake groups won a large number of Awards. Bands and Orchestras from the greater Auckland area, as well as some form Hamilton, Northland and Tauranga, all compete in the competition which is the biggest regional Secondary Schools music event.
