Course Information and Selections 2021

Subject choice information for 2021 is now available on SchoolPoint (see link below).  Due to the problems with our school network, student subject choice will now be open on SchoolPoint from 20 August (not 17 August as previously stated). Students have until 4pm on Thursday 27 August to make their selections.

In Term 4, your daughter will have an individual meeting with either her House Dean or one of our Careers Advisers. She will be able to make changes to her choices then if needed.

The link below will take you to SchoolPoint – an online curriculum and course selection programme. Within SchoolPoint you will be able to find detailed descriptions of all our subjects at all levels. You don’t need to log in.

Click the link below, and then click “Browse Courses”.  Here you will find a list of Departments. Select a Department and a list of subjects appears. Browse through the subjects to find out everything you need to know about subjects at various levels – what is studied, how it is assessed and who the Teacher in Charge is.

Subject Choice Information Evening

On Monday 17 August, Westlake Girls High School will be holding a Subject Choice Information Evening for students currently in Years 10-12, and their parents. We warmly invite you to come and discuss NCEA-level subjects with TICs and HODs.

Firstly, we encourage you to talk with your daughter about what subjects she would like to take, and then come along to meet with teachers in D Block, who can answer your questions. There is no need to book, just come along between 4pm and 6pm.  Careers counsellors will also be available during this time.

Please see the 2020 course materials and stationery lists in the Documents & Links section below.

Subject forms for 2021 will be posted here once they are available.

Giving Day - 28 October 2020

We are very excited to announce the first-ever Westlake Girls High School Giving Day. The building of our new Event Centre is coming along nicely, however we are seeking the community's help to get us over the line with our funding shortfall. We are aiming to raise $20,000 by midnight on Wednesday 28 October for our Event Centre - which will become the hub of our school community. You don't need to wait until the 28th - we are happily accepting donations now!
