Welcome to Westlake Girls High School. We believe by inspiring our students to love learning, they will leave us as confident, robust, optimistic young women who are proud citizens of New Zealand and equipped for global success. Through our goals of Academic Achievement, Personal Growth and Hauora, we encourage our students to be curious, creative thinkers who respect themselves and others, and care for their community and environment. With a proud history, and exciting future, we’d love you to join us on our journey.
Our academic results consistently track above national outcomes, but there’s so much more to Westlake Girls than a strong academic record. It’s a place all students can call home, as we celebrate and embrace ethnic and cultural diversity. It’s a place to be adventurous with more than 30 clubs, a host of sports teams and a wide range of drama, dance and music ensembles. It’s a place to belong, as students become responsible global citizens by actively taking part in the community around them.

STEAM are subjects we believe help students to widen their career options, and remove gender stereotyping when it comes to technical and non-traditional jobs.
Year 9 students starting high school are able to join the programme, which includes a project-approach to coding, electronics, design technology and 3D modelling. Science, Mathematics, English and Social Studies are also enriched with projects.
