2023 WGHS Ki-O-Rahi
National registration
In 2022, our Ki-O-Rahi team qualified for the Ki-O-Rahi Nationals which is held in Rotorua during the April school holidays. We are currently taking registrations for players to join this team and attend Nationals in 2023. Trials for Senior Ki-O-Rahi will happen on Tuesday the 7th of March on the football field.

Seniors
Westlake Girls will be entering a Senior Ki-O-Rahi team into the AKSS Senior and championships happening in Term 4. We are very lucky to have our own HOD of PE Ms Kath Beckett coach the team. This team joins forces with Westlake Boys to compete at the tournament. We are hoping to have 2 teams attend this competition.

Juniors
Westlake Girls will be entering a Junior Ki-O-Rahi team in the AKSS Junior Ki-O-Rahi championships which happen in Term 4. This team joins with Westlake Boys and is coached by our Senior players with the assistance of Ms Beckett.

Fees
The fee for the Ki-O-Rahi season is $40. Please pay here
*Please note that for tournaments, there are extra charges and this will be loaded onto student accounts.
Uniform
Students will be issued a playing singlet. Students can also wear tag/rip shorts but they have to be black only.
Trials
Seniors – Tuesday 26th of September 3:30pm-4:30pm at WGHS
Juniors – Thursday 29th of September at lunchtime 12:25pm-1:15pm at WGHS
Trainings
Seniors will train on Tuesday’s starting on the 3rd of October (tbc).
Juniors will train on Tuesday’s starting on the 24th of October (tbc).
*There may also be a WGHS Student only training on Thursday lunchtimes but this will depend on the number of registrations.
