If you are not afraid of a little bit of dirt and mud, and enjoy getting out amongst nature, then Cross Country might be the sport for you.  The Distance Running season runs from April through to August and involves challenging races of various distances over public parks, reserves and sometimes even farms.   Westlake Girls also competes in Road Race which varies in distances from 3 km through to 10 km on both the regional and national platform.

Run Club is every Wednesday aimed at Runners who can run 5km comfortably. This session is led by the Sports Manager Jo Mersh.

2026 SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY DAY

ENTRIES CLOSE: Monday 16 March. 2026

The annual School Cross Country is compulsory for ALL YEAR 9 students and therefore they are not required to complete the registration below. The event is optional for Year 10-13 therefore they are required to register below.

The course is 3 km around the school, starting and finishing on the FOOTBALL TURF. It will be marshalled by both staff and prefect and will determine the Junior, Intermediate and Senior School Cross Country Champions for 2026.  All competitors will be expected to arrive at the football turf at their allotted time dressed in P.E uniform and ready to run.

DATE: Friday 20 March 2026

TIME: All Day

VENUE: Westlake Girls Turf

REGISTER: CLIPBOARD/2026 WESTLAKE GIRLS SCHOOL EVENTS/CROSS COUNTRY DAY
