2026 SAILING

Westlake Girls is the top Girls Sailing School in Australasia after finishing first in the Girls Division at the 2025 Interdominion Regatta in South Australia and retaining their National Championship crown for the third consecutive year last year. The team features some stellar sailors like World Feva Champion, Charlotte Handley and New Zealand Youth Sailors, Jess Handley and Bella Jenkins.

Over the years Milford Cruising Club has been the gracious home of Westlake Girls Sailing and this year it all begins again on Monday 9 February at 4pm with Induction Day.  If you would like to join the Sailing programme, please register your interest in the form below or email the contact for more information.

2026 CALENDAR

  • Induction Day – Monday 3 February from 4pm – 7pm at Milford Cruising Club
  • National Secondary School Keelboat Championship (5 sailors selected) – 13 – 15 March 2026 (RNZYS).
  • Auckland Secondary School Team Sailing Championship (8 sailors selected) – 25 – 27 March 2026 (RAYC).
  • Auckland Secondary School Fleet Racing Regatta (Students sail their own boats) – 6 March 2026 (Wakatere Boating Club).
  • NZ Secondary School Team Sailing National Championship – 13 – 19 April 2026 (Whangarei).

TRAINING & TRIALS: 

Training dates – February-March starting on Monday 9 February 2026 (Specific Dates TBC)

Trials will be held during training, and all sailors will be notified about the process.

FEES:

  • Auckland Teams Racing Champs – $90
  • Auckland Fleet Racing Regatta – $50
  • National Secondary Schools Keel boat Harken Cup – $90
  • NZ Secondary Schools Team Racing Champs -TBC- $1000
