Two Westlake Girls teams picked up major awards at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Vex National Robotics Champs held at the end of February. Westlake team 2904C made up of Beverly Sun, Ashleigh Sun, Elizabeth Vaughan, Cynthia Liu won the prestigious Design Award. This entitles their team to attend VEX Robotics World Championship to be held in Louisville, Kentucky, USA in mid-April 2017.
Westlake Team 2904A won the Judges Award and this team is made up of Anushka Kharbanda, Regina Lee, Clarissa Pasang
