Emma Clipstone (Year 9) competed in the North Island Secondary Schools Cross Country Mountain Biking Championships held at the Summerhill Mountain Bike Park in Tauranga at the beginning of October. She performed extremely well, winning Bronze in the Under-15 Girls XCO Race.

The Westlake Girls High School Junior Cross Country team won a Silver Medal for 2nd Place in the Junior 6-Person Team Event at the Auckland Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships held in late September. The team members are: Holly Marshman, Abbie Clements, Sophie Tucker, Imi Burge, Lily Clarkson and Rosie Larkin.

Rugby Sevens team wins title

The Westlake Girls Under-15 Sevens Rugby team won the North Harbour Under 15 Girls Rugby title at the One-Day Tournament held in late September. The team went through the tournament unbeaten, beating Long Bay 31 – 0 in the semi-final and Takapuna Grammar School 17 – 12 in the final.

Three rhythmic gymnasts win medals

The New Zealand Secondary Schools Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships were held in mid-September. Three students won medals at this event.
