The World Cheerleading Championships were held in Orlando, Florida, USA in late April. Five Westlake Girls students were in various New Zealand teams and all won medals in their grades. Cate Moyle (Year 10) and Jasmine Foley (Year 10) won Bronze in the Junior Division. Yuzu Akiyama (Year 10) won two medals, a Silver in the All Girls Division and a Bronze in the Junior Division. Kelsey Warrington (Year 10) and Ciara Thomas (Year 11) each won two medals, a Silver in the All Girls Teams Division and a Bronze in the Co-ed Division.
