The Post-Primary Teachers’ Association (PPTA) is in negotiation with the government over a new Collective Agreement, and has given preliminary notice of strike action on Wednesday 29 May. Because this will affect a number of teaching staff at Westlake Girls High School, there will be no scheduled classes on that day and we advise parents to keep your daughters at home. However, there will be supervision available at the school for those students who are unable to remain at home.
Negotiations are continuing between the PPTA and government so it is not certain that the strike will proceed. We will confirm by email when we have certainty either way.
