Westlake Winners

18 Medals at New Zealand Secondary Schools Swimming Championships

The Westlake Girls swimming team competed at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Swimming Championships in Hamilton during mid-September and performed extremely well, winning 18 medals. The team achieved an Overall Top Girls School ranking of 3rd Place. 

Four Bronze medals were won in the team relays by the 8 x 50m Open Freestyle Relay team (Zoe Crawford, Mea Van Rooyen, Cassidy Coldicott, Safra Wohlfarth, Gabriela Halili, Erika Paterson, Chloe Seaman, Jelani Wetzell), the 4 x 50m 15 & Under Medley Relay (Zoe Crawford, Mea van Rooyen, Erika Paterson, Chloe Seaman), the 4 x 100m 15 & Under Freestyle Relay (Zoe Crawford, Mea van Rooyen, Erika Paterson, Chloe Seaman)  and the 4 x 50m 15 & Under Freestyle Relay (Zoe Crawford, Mea van Rooyen, Erika Paterson, Chloe Seaman). Individual Medals were won by Zoe Crawford (Year 9) a Gold in the 14yrs 50m Freestyle, Silver in the 14yrs 100m Freestyle, Silver in the 14yrs 200m Freestyle, Silver in the 14yrs 50m Backstroke, Silver in the 14yrs 100m Backstroke and Bronze in the 14yrs 200m Backstroke; Lena Hamblyn-Ough (Year 9) a Bronze in the 13yrs 200m Butterfly & Bronze in the 13yrs 200m Freestyle; Savannah-Eve Martin (Year 9) a Silver in the 13yrs 100m Backstroke & Bronze in the 13yrs 200m Backstroke and the 13yrs 50m Backstroke; Chloe Seaman (Year 11) Gold in the 15yrs 50m Backstroke, Gold in the 15yrs 100m backstroke & Silver in the 15yrs 100m Backstroke.
