Three placings at New Zealand Open Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships

The New Zealand Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships were held at The Trusts Arena, Auckland in early October. This event is open to gymnasts from clubs all across New Zealand and three Westlake students produced outstanding results at the competition. Hannah Moore (Year 12) won the title for the All Round Senior International Champion and this also makes her the overall New Zealand Champion. She was also awarded the trophy for the Rhythmic Gymnast of the Competition. Hannah won two of the events in this top grade (hoop and ball) and placed 2^nd in the other two events (clubs and ribbon). Iris (XinEn) Hoo (Year 11) was placed 3^rd in the same All Round Senior International grade. Iris placed 2^nd in hoop, 3^rd in ball, 4^th in clubs and 1^st in ribbon. Laylah Waggie (Year 11) won the title for the All Round Junior International Champion. Laylah won all four of the disciplines in her grade of the competition (rope, ball, clubs & ribbon) to secure this title.
