Netball wins third place at Secondary School Championships

Westlake Girls was one of 14 secondary schools teams from across New Zealand qualified to attend the New Zealand Secondary School Netball tournament held in Nelson in mid-October. The Westlake team performed extremely well, winning all their pool games and quarter final. A loss in the semi-final meant they had to play Manukura (Palmerston North) in the 3^rd/4^th playoff. Despite being down by 7 goals at the start of the last quarter, the Westlake team had a fantastic last quarter (out-scoring Manukura by 14 goals to 5) to win the Bronze Medal with a final score of 37 – 35.
