2022 Westlake Girls Netball

WGHS has a proud netball tradition with more than 40 teams competing in the Auckland and North Harbour Competitions during Terms 2 and 3 each year. As the biggest sport in the school, all interested players are catered for from the premier  competitive level through to novice students who are just starting out. Participation and staying active is a key initiative so there is a place for everyone who is interested in playing.  The Netball programme begins in late February with trials for all teams.  Once students have registered for netball by completing the form on the TAB to the right, they will be notified about their relevant trial and what is expected on the day.

To register for 2022 Netball, please complete the form on the TAB to the right

All trials are held at the Westlake Girls covered courts. All students are expected to attend both trials unless they have a summer sports clash, if that is the case please let April Ieremia know by emailing aieremia@westlakegirls.school.nz

Please ensure you are dressed in appropriate clothing and footwear and are fully warmed up 10 minutes prior to the start of each trial. There will be a call-back trial for Year 9s and Year 10s. This list will be posted on the noticeboard in the Sports Department. Once all trials are finalised and fees have been paid the team lists will then be posted on the noticeboard in the Sports Department at the end of Term 1.

Senior Students (Year 11-13) can also create their own teams and therefore do not need to attend trials.  These teams are self-organised – they create their own training times, game day strategy and are managed by a parent.  Teams play in the same competition as other Senior players, so it is important to indicate the team’s level of ability when you apply.  When you register your team, please name a captain as the point of contact for all communication as well as listing your team.

If you would like to make your own team, please complete the social section of the registration form on the TAB to the right.

Students who withdraw from teams after the teams have been finalised will incur a $50 administration fee. There will be no refund made to students who withdraw once a team has been registered, or to students who are injured throughout the season. Parents are welcome to set up automatic payments to help pay for their students fees.
