Touch

Touch Rugby is played in a weekly competition with Seniors in Term One and Juniors in Term Four.  Juniors may be permitted to play in Term One if they have played representative level touch. In the past, Westlake Girls has competed at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships with their best finish being 2nd.

Touch Dates/ Events

Trials:
Premier/Senior: Early February date is tbc. Please check back in mid January for an update.
*Please note Juniors are welcome to trial for Senior touch
Junior: Will happen in Term 3. Please check in mid August

Premier term 4: Will happen at the end of Term 3 in mid August

Trainings:

Term 1

Senior trainings – Thursday starting on the 9^th of Feb at WGHS Football field

 Term 4

Premier Touch

Monday 18^th of September

• Pre-season training starts

Monday 23^rd of October

• Training at WGHS 3:30pm and Cox’s Bay Module.

Wednesday 25^th of October

• Training at 7:45am at WGHS

 Junior touch  – Will be confirmed closer to Term 4

Fees:

Premier team: $50
Senior/social team: $40
Junior team $40

Please note that for tournaments, there are extra charges and this will be loaded onto student accounts. 

All fees can be paid here

Uniforms
Students will be issued a playing singlet and all students need to wear black spanx when playing. The premier team will also be issued black playing shorts.

Premier qualifying comp – Term 1 date tbc 

College Sport North Harbour Senior Competition – Term 1
– Juniors can trial for Senior touch also
College Sport North Harbour Junior Competition – Term 4

*Both of the above competitions cater for social and competitive grades
