Auckland Transport (AT) is changing the Public Bus services on the North Shore on 1 October. They have decided to also make changes to some school bus routes and times.
These will affect bus users from the start of Term 4 (Monday 15 October). There has been no consultation with the school about these changes nor the decision to start them in Term 4, so it is important if your daughter does use a school bus, she checks the AT website to see if there is a change. The schools on the North Shore are listed alphabetically, so Westlake Girls is at the bottom of the list. If you click on Westlake Girls, it lists only the bus routes with changes. If a School Bus route is not listed there, then there is no change to it.

One quick way to find to find the most suitable school bus is to use the AT online journey planner. This can also be used to show any Public Bus changes (but remember the new routes for changes will not show on this journey planner until 1 October so either wait until October to check new routes or change the date to some time in October on the journey planner).

Type in where you want to go to and from, then open “options” and click on “School Bus” so that they are included in the search and change the date to “15 October, Mon” (this is the first day of Term 4 and the first day the new school bus services operate) to see the new school route options (click on “ferry” and “train” to prevent these options showing and you will only get shown the options for public buses (“bus”) and school buses. If you only want school buses, click on “buses” to prevent them showing up as well.

A lot of public buses are changing (for example the 875 that a number of students catch is stopping from September 30). They are being replaced by other route numbers. All new public bus routes can be searched for on the AT website after October 1. Use the At journey planner to find the best public bus.

Westlake Girls School bus Changes from Term 4
Below are the school bus routes with changes from Monday 15 October 2018 (first day of Term 4).

Minor route change, now uses Waterloo Road not Alma Road. No changes to bus stops.

Westlake Girls to Verrans Corner
The current last stop is 87 Mokoia Road (3983). In future this stop will not be served. Instead the bus will serve 116, opposite 155, opposite 185 Mokoia Road (4110, 4210, 4013), then 6, and 40 Waipa Street (4130, 4132), then Verran Road opposite BT (4134).

This bus now starts from 8 Roberts Rd and runs the opposite direction around Windy Ridge so passengers catching the bus on Kaipatiki Rd, Stanley Rd, Contessa Dr, Tamahere Dr or Seaview Rd will catch their bus on the opposite side of the road to where they currently catch it in the morning.
