Netball team wins Silver Medal at National Championships

In late September, the Westlake High School Premier netball team was one of 16 secondary schools throughout New Zealand that qualified for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Netball Championships played in Timaru in mid-October. The Westlake team did extremely well, going through pool play unbeaten then only losing one game in post-pool play by one goal to then make it into the final. We were beaten by Mount Albert Grammar School in the final but the Westlake team came away with the Silver Medal for 2^nd in New Zealand in Secondary Schools Netball. Courtney Katterns (Year 13) and Kylie McGahan (Year 11) were named in the Tournament Team which is a fine achievement as well.
