The Westlake Girls Premier Netball and Premier Basketball teams both qualified for entry into their respective New Zealand Secondary School championships (both of which will take place in late September) from their results in the qualifying tournaments they played during the Secondary Schools qualifying tournament week in early September.
At the Upper North Island Secondary Schools Netball Tournament (UNIS), the Westlake Premier Team finished 6th from the 120 teams competing with the top six North Island teams going through to the New Zealand Secondary schools championships (with the top four teams form the lower North Island and the top four teams form the South island Tournaments). The Westlake Premier Basketball Team qualified for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Basketball Championship by winning the Silver Medal for Second Place at the AA Premier Zone 1 Basketball Tournament.
