Volleyball is the second largest sport at Westlake Girls and its popularity stems from the ease in which young students are able to learn the game and then develop confidently and quickly with it. It is also an excellent summer sport for those who just want to have fun with their friends. The Senior Volleyball season takes place in Term 1 and the Juniors – Year 9 & 10 – play in Term 4. There are two competitive leagues for students in both seasons; the Auckland League on Fridays after school for the top team and the Harbour Super League on Wednesdays for the top 4 teams.
For the non-competitive students who are interested in having fun with friends as well as staying active, the Thursday afternoon Harbour League is a great option and is played just around the corner at North Harbour Netball Arena.
2024 TRIALS:
Trials for the competitive senior teams typically begin in December for the Premier team and then late January for the Senior Super League sides.
The Senior Muster for social teams occurs in the first week of February.
The Juniors trials begin at the start of Term 3 with the competitive Junior leagues beginning in mid-September.
The Junior Muster for social teams is at the end of Term 3.
